A rich history:

The Botanical Garden of Jibou was founded in 1968 by Professor Vasile Fati, a teacher at the local high school. Over the years, it has grown considerably, reaching today an area of 24 hectares. The garden occupies the recreational park of the medieval castle, the former residence of the Wesselényi family.

The collections of the Jibou Botanical Garden include over 5,000 plant species from various geographical areas of the world. Visitors can admire a wide range of plants, from the exotic and rare to the local flora.

  • Opening hours: the garden is open daily from 8:00 to 18:00 (May-September) and from 9:00 to 17:00 (October-April).
  • Admission: 10 lei for adults, 5 lei for pupils and students and free for children under 7.
