Prejmer Fortress: a symbol of defence and resistance:

Built in the 13th century, the Prejmer Fortress was mainly intended to defend the locals and the church of Prejmer against the invasions of the Tartars and Turks. Its circular shape, massive walls 12 metres high and 4 metres thick, iron gates and drawbridges provided effective protection against attack.
