Discover Toaca Peak, the second highest peak in the Ceahlău Massif, a legendary mountain destination renowned for its distinctive pyramid shape and spectacular views.

A rewarding climb:

Although it is not the highest point in Ceahlău, Toaca Peak attracts tourists like a magnet thanks to its fascinating route and the amazing panoramas that reveal themselves at every step. The route to the summit includes iconic stops such as La Morminte, Dorobanțului's Cap, Cabana Dochia, Fântânele, Cununa Zimbrului and Panaghia, offering an insight into the unique history and beauty of the mountain.

A miraculous phenomenon:

One of the most spectacular moments at Toaca Peak takes place every year at the beginning of August, especially on the feast of the Transfiguration. At sunrise, a unique image is formed: the four shadows of Toaca Peak, Shepherd's Stone, Volcano Stone and Panaghia are clearly distinguishable on the mountainside, providing a fascinating spectacle for those present.

A variety of trails for all preferences:

Access to Vârful Toaca can be made from several points: Durău, Bicazul Ardelean, Neagra or Izvorul Muntelui. There are trails of varying degrees of difficulty, from easier trails, suitable for families with children, to more demanding routes, recommended for experienced climbers. Whichever route you choose, the ultimate reward is a fairytale view that will leave you speechless.

Stairway to heaven:

For those who want to experience a more thrilling climb, there is a metal ladder set into the rock, which starts at an altitude of 1771 metres and reaches 1893 metres. The 500 or so steps offer a unique view of the mountain and surrounding valleys, but require good physical condition and a dose of courage.
